We tried to go to the Sandy Point State Reservation, but the parking is extremely limited and they were all out of spaces. I talked to the DCR guy and he said on holidays and weekends the lot fills up by 8am. So we went up the road a bit to a beach in the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. It was well worth the drive out to Plum Island; lots of cool birds and shoreline scenery, and maybe next time we'll set the alarm clock and get a parking spot on the reservation.

Looks like we need to add Plum Island to our list of places we still need to visit in New England! What a beautiful coastline.
If I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times: nobody is allowed to go to the beach (or anywhere else that might be construed as fun) without me.
you guys went to Plum Island?!?!?!?
is that not the greatest beach ever? that's the only beach we ever go to, it's so great! the reservation is awesome too, i've found such cool shells there. anywho, my parents and i were up there on memorial day (mainly Newburyport, but we did make a quick run up to PI). i'm sad we didn't see you.
:(
Fun!
I love Plum Island. It looks lovely. We'll have to visit there when we come (if we ever do again). The price of gas and airline tickets may put a crimp on my life.
