Four Lumps of Sugar

A week in review: Peter turned older. I bought him a sweater, he blew out some candles. We sure do like him.
Bryn made marionettes out of a few of her toys and put on a grand show from her new bunk bed.

Calvin constructed a "Chinese" mask. You can tell it's Chinese by the spirals.

Ivy attended a tea party birthday party in costume.
And I bowled my best score ever today- 201 under the pseudonym "Mamba" (chosen by Bryn). Pictures proving my feat may or may not appear.

They Came Back!

Once upon a time, we shared a duplex with some very dear friends. They moved away, and our sadness was great. But years later, we find ourselves neighbors again (they now live in Rho-Disland). We had a beach day on Monday. Our joy is great.

Marcus and Bryn were pretty much siblings the first couple of years of their lives. It was great to see them pick right back up where they left off.
These guys were born a week apart. It was an exciting time at the Clewley Commune. They are now almost exactly the same size.

Bryn thrives at the beach.

Clambiking, Clambaking, and Clambeaching

We were happy to have gorgeous weather for our 11th annual church clambake. Joining us in the Clam-B'ing were Peter's cousin's family and Laura and Lance and families.  Memorable moments:

  • Peter and Spencer left at 8:45am and biked 40 miles to the clambake.
  • Lance procurred a wet suit and proceeded to snorkel all over creation. At one point Dani got worried that he had been swept away by rip tides, but he made it back safe and sound. I got my snorkel out, too, but I try not to stray more than a few yards away from shore.
  • Lance and Dani brought the best beach shelter ever. It withstood heavy winds and created the perfect amount of shade. Mason even took a nap in his carseat in its shade.
  • Though normally placid for an ocean beach, Crane beach had some great boogie board waves today thanks to hurricane Leslie.  I had about 3 cups of sand in my swimming suit when I got home.
  • Baby Lily made her beach debut. She looked smashing in her blue polka-dot swim suit.
  • Laura and Tim brought Dunkin Donuts as their clambake contributions. That was the very first thing to run out at the clambake.
Ivy made sand angels. Squiggles sprinkled sand delicately over the beach. They have different paradigms, yet still enjoy playing near each other.
Bryn and her second cousins Anna and Kate

It was a real nice clambake.
